Final push to complete this 9th tenet, and then the 7th.
Taking and Being, numbers 7 & 9, are the last two tenets I must complete to finish the Serenity Shelf. Work will commence this third week of June 2014.
Being a native of York County, I decided to enter the York Art Association 43rd Annual Open Juried Exhibit; Oct. 6 – Nov. 2. The Pencil Boy group was accepted and I was just notified today that I was awarded 3rd place ($300) in the show. It is nice to get the positive affirmation on the work every so often.
Three more of the shelf figures slowly emerging. The goal is to have the full Serenity Shelf, with all nine totems, completed by Thanksgiving. That means that I have many hours of work to do in the next two months.
Accepting hardship as the pathway to peace. This is the flip side to “accepting” and there are lessons in all sides.
Accepting hardship as the pathway to peace; certainly easier said than done. See three posts down and how this little figure fits into the overall serenity prayer shelf piece.
